Bespoke representatives for each constituency
At present, political parties have to produce a manifesto that covers the whole country.
This is a problem; the concerns and priorities of the people of Golders Green, the Outer Hebrides, Newport, Bolsover & Cambridge are extraordinarily different, but they are all represented by one set of party policies. Likewise, Newport is very different to Deeside or the Gower.
Each Open Party MS is chosen by the local public, not the party. That person, therefore, reflects the particular concerns and priorities of that local population. Each Open Party MS stands on a different agenda reflecting their constituency.
The result is a spectrum of representation, rather than just a few primary colours. Accurate representation of the country, with all the varied concerns being championed. We need a tailored politics. Not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Poor representation
During the EU referendum, the UK was roughly equally split 48:52 on whether to remain or leave the EU. However, at the previous general election, just 1.8% of MP’s were elected on a policy of leaving the EU.
This was the most pertinent political issue for many years and Parliament completely failed to reflect the true split position in the country. The result was political upheaval for years, reacting to the shock of the referendum.
If we had an accurate representation, the views of some communities would have shown up years before, and the political system could have adapted.
